First there was a horse called The Maldivian. And now its a music group from the United States of America. They seem to have been around for a while and I only stumbled onto a news story about them today which directed me to their website as well as their myspace page.
I have been listening to some of their songs on Myspace and they are not bad at all. They sound pretty good. The people who are organizing music shows in Maldives should look into getting these guys over there somehow. It would be worthwhile!

well there's even a Hotel named 'Breakfree Maldives' in Gold Coast, Australia, which was previously named as Maldives Resort. Guess you've heard about this too :)
i've heard of this band but never heard them. wil check em out on myspace. boy, arent they all fascinated by this country. the movie Collateral has a reference to us, a hotel in australia, a horse which almost won a race. what's next? an underwear brand name???

shaari los of movies seem to have a maldives reference these days. latest one i saw was jumper where the hayden christensen goes surfing in maldives. cos they dont show it. it just comes up...
